About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Lancaster, New York, The Yelling Goat delivers an unforgettable dining experience that artfully blends comfort food with bold, inventive flavors. This bustling restaurant is a haven for lovers of hearty American classics with a gourmet twist, offering a menu that reads like a tribute to indulgence and spice.

The culinary standout here is undoubtedly their chicken wings, served by the pound and seasoned with a range of tantalizing flavors. Their award-winning Berbere Wings introduce diners to a beautifully balanced Ethiopian spice blend with medium heat—a clever and unexpected flavor profile that keeps patrons coming back. Fans of smoky sweetness will savor the Bourbon BBQ wings and the uniquely crafted BB & B sauce, which masterfully combines BBQ sauce, bourbon, and berbere spices for a rich, complex taste sensation. Traditionalists aren’t left out, either, with hot, medium, and mild wings that satisfy every palate.

For those craving gourmet sandwiches, The Yelling Goat shines with tempting selections like the iconic Beef on Weck, juicy Reuben Sandwich, and the indulgent Porkbelly Burger. If grilled cheese is your weakness, their specialty melts on thick Texas toast—layers of swiss, provolone, and cheddar cheeses melted to perfection with fresh arugula and tomato—are both elevated and comforting.

Beyond wings and sandwiches, their diverse menu spans from the hearty Steak and Cheese Calzone to the crispy Fish and Chips, and even lighter options like the House Salad. Shareable appetizers such as Baked Brie and Soft Bavarian Pretzel Sticks enrich the casual yet lively vibe of the space, making it perfect for gatherings and cozy date nights alike.

Every dish is crafted with care, and the generous portions ensure you’ll leave happily satisfied—likely with leftovers to savor later. The fresh bread, fluffy and warm, is the perfect companion to any meal and garners rave reviews from customers. Pair your food with one of the restaurant’s signature cocktails, praised as “perfect” and “incredible” for their refreshing, seasonal flair.

The atmosphere at The Yelling Goat is welcoming and vibrant. Whether you're settling in for a quiet lunch or enjoying an evening out, the attentive and friendly staff enhance the experience. Customers consistently highlight the “kind and positive” service, with the team’s dedication elevating the whole visit to something special.

With glowing praise from diners like Mik B, who raves about the mushroom pizza and summer drinks, and Jackie Coe, who calls the braised short rib dip sandwich “to die for,” it’s clear that this spot is much more than a neighborhood restaurant. It’s a place where comfort meets culinary creativity, and every visit feels like a treat.

For those craving a restaurant where the food bursts with flavor, the service feels genuinely warm, and the portions promise great value, The Yelling Goat in Lancaster is an absolute must-visit. Prepare for a feast that excites the senses and leaves a lasting impression.

Reuben was delicious, and the braised short rib dip sandwich was to die for! Meal was great, server was attentive, and we had a late lunch/early dinner so there was hardly anyone there with no wait time around 3:30pm! A little loud at the bar but to be expected at times.

The tomato florantine soup was incredible. The meals were savory and filling. You'll definitely have leftovers. My husband and I love coming here for a little date night.

The Yelling Goat is a beloved fixture in the Lancaster area, renowned for its quality food, outstanding service, and one-of-a-kind vibe. You will find all kinds of unique signs and memorabilia on the walls and throughout. You can count on generous portions here, with most dishes ranging from good to excellent. Crowd-pleasers include their burgers, the Greek salad with chicken, the Reuben, and their pizzas. And don't even get me started on the massive calzone! Even the wine pours are notably generous, making each glass well worth the cost. Extensive beer menu (scan the QR code for all the details). Given its popularity, especially for bigger parties, booking ahead is definitely a smart move. Some refreshing could be done in some of the higher traffic areas and restrooms but overall it's in nice shape. They do have a patio area on the front (street side) and along a small portion of the parking lot.

Definitely want to eat here again soon! Lots of options for both drinks and food. I got the Traditional Macaroni & Cheese which was delicious once it cooled down. The Tropical Treasure cocktail was so gorgeous and I loved the combination of fruit juices. The ladies bathroom was clean and had one normal sized stall and one handicap stall that also had a baby changing station on the wall.
